Let me just say…these little babies are a must have…without them, you’re toast!!!

There called lead capture pages, also landing pages, and even squeeze pages. Their pages that are meant to give just enough information so that the person viewing them will enter their details to get more information. This is the first page you want people to see, the page you will direct your domain name to, or if you build it yourself, the page you direct traffic to in any marketing that you do.

For example: www.MLMSponsoringBlueprint.com

There’s one thing you must be clear on, you do not want to point your links, or the domain name that you use, to your company’s information site. It’s imperative that you collect their information, so that you are able to followup with them with your autoresponder and/or phone.  When you point your links to your companies info page, all you are doing is giving them the option to simply click away…and they probably will…and you will never hear from them again, you have no way to followup, etc. You will waste a lot of your time, money and energy.

Are you using a capture page? Is it the same one everyone in your company is using? You can decrease your cost per lead by simply having your own, more unique capture page. The reason is, if it’s new, its far more likely to get a response. Also, if you create your own, you can tailor your message to your audience. For example, you could have different capture pages for various target markets.

Now if your the techie type, you could use Dreamweaver software to build your pages and you could pay someone like ThirdSphere.com to host them for you. However, when you have a look at the pricing involved with both, you’ll probably agree that it may be cost prohibitive if your business is not already turning a steady profit.

Stay tuned for my final post in this series, where I lay out the exact strategies I have been using to master Lead Capture Page creation, generate a list , monetize that list! and how I combine affiliate marketing with Network Marketing. These methods have allowed me to take my business to the next level.

Now that you have created multiple domain extensions, lets talk about how you can use each one.

When placing any form of offline advertising, you must always use a .com extension.

Just get into this habit, people will remember your website as a .com. So if you place your ad with something like www.onlineprosperity.net and they go to find you online, they will most likely type in www.onlineprosperity.com .  If that is you, sweet!, but if its not you you have lost a lead and potentially a lot of money.

With Online advertising it’s not as important, when you are online and someone is simply clicking on a link, it really doesn’t matter which extension you use, and that is fact!

Utilizing your Different Extensions Online

There are two main ways to use your different extensions online. One is to create continuity, and the other is in ad tracking.

Creating Continuity Between Your Ad and Your Follow up by using Different Extensions of the Same Domain Name.

Here is an example of how to use different extensions of the same domain to create continuity.

We have 1 domain name, 3 extensions.
www.OnlineProsperity.com
www.OnlineProsperity.info
www.OnlineProsperity.biz

The first domain, www.OnlineProsperity.com would be placed in any offline promotions for your business. Even a sign on the side of the road with that domain name would be hard to forget! That domain name points at a LANDING PAGE, sometimes called a Lead Capture Page. Your landing page should be provided to you by your company, or by your team. You will use the domain forwarding feature at www.godaddy.com to point the domain to the long affiliate url you were given.

Your landing page collects the name, email and perhaps the phone number of the person who wants to access the information about how to earn $$$. After the form is filled, they are immediately taken to the actual opportunity site. At the same time, they are added to an autoresponder email sequence that will followup with them forever, or until they opt out. This is where the other 2 domain names are used.

Logically, the www.OnlineProsperity.info domain is forwarded to the information pages about the opportunity. At godaddy, you will put the exact extension of the long affiliate url. In the followup series messages that are pointing back to the site for them to gather more INFO, I will use the .info extension. I use the .info url because the long affiliate url is UGLY and not CLICKABLE. Even in the followup series, you want a good looking domain name.

Think about it. www.OnlineProsperity.com, or…

…http://goto.worldsbestmlm.com/lp1/lp1/php…Which would you click?

Remember what I said previously about people cutting off your affiliate ID’s and just typing in www.worldsbestmlm.com

If your honest  you’d  probably do it yourself, and so would others!

Similarly, the www.OnlineProsperity.biz extension is used in the call to action section of the followup email. The sentence that says “Join Now!” will use the .biz extension and point directly to the sign up page. The .biz says it all, they are ready to go, and the link takes them directly to the page they need to see. If they are not ‘ready to go’ and they click on it, then they have SEEN the page they will use when they are ready. They know how to navigate back to it if they go back into the info pages of the site. This actually will help your conversion rates significantly!

I am aware that not all ‘corporate’ sites are this easy to dissect and point your different extensions to. Some sites individual pages lose the links to you when you navigate away from the main page. In that case, you can use your different extensions for ad tracking.
