Do You Think Eban Pagan and I have anything in common?
At first glance you would probably say, not really!…although I believe that by the end of this post you’ll come to understand that we do in fact have a lot in common.
I’m going to give you a hint to our commonality by starting with a quote by Eban himself…“Possibly the most important and profound action you can take to create change, transformation and success in your life is to build and participate in a “MasterMind.”
What I have come to realize is that just as Eban Pagan has done, I to am on a similar path by creating Financial Security for myself, owning and operating an online business from the comfort of my own home.
My name is Martin Varlow and I’m going to take you right back to my beginnings so you can get a better handle on my journey.
I was always restless as a kid, I took myself out of school at the ripe old age of 16. I quickly yet graciously
, declined a cabinet making trade my Dad had lined up for me, grabbed my backpack and hit the road in search of more… a journey which lasted over 10 years.
I soon developed a lust for international travel and by age 18 was on my way overseas for the first time. I grew up by the ocean and had learned to surf by the time I was 8 yrs old on the pristine beaches of the east coast of Australia.
This of course fostered a deep connection to the ocean, so like any self respecting young Aussie, my first overseas trip just had to be…a surfing trip to Bali!
I didn’t know it then but that first trip spawned a love of South-East and West Asia and later the islands of Polynesia and their glorious un-crowded waves. I also found myself drawn to the indomitable spirit of the people…so much so that in 2005 I invested in Game Fishing in Samoa.
That first overseas trip gave me the “travel bug” and I have taken many trips since that have had a profound effect on the way I view life now. Being able to connect with other cultures while trekking through remote villages in Northern Thailand, scaling the valleys and peaks up to 17,000ft in Nepal was inspirational and the diversity of India a definite highlight.
Although I was raised an atheist, my beliefs have always laid somewhere between the ethical ‘do unto others’ thing and with what you probably realize by now, a heavy spiritual lean towards eastern philosophies and a deep belief in the laws of attraction.
My transparent approach will allow you to talk with me easily, I don’t judge people, I respect beliefs and I stick by my friends… I am the real deal!
My school education was nothing to brag about… although I have always been a student throughout my life. A mentor of mine once told me that many, maybe even the majority of celebrated entrepreneurs are either High school or College dropouts!
Personally I have no regrets about leaving school early. I have since adopted a belief that there is a king size gap between academic and practical knowledge. Having both is a bonus. For me I guess I was always going to take the grassroots approach.
I had my own company by the time I was 28. For the next 15 years I employed countless casual staff and managed to qualify 3 fine young men as tradesmen who all went on to own and operate their own companies, now THAT was totally rewarding!
What wasn’t so rewarding was the constant pressure from Big Brother making sure I crossed the T’s and dotted the I’s. Just because I helped support the economy by turning over hundreds of thousands of dollars didn’t necessarily mean I was super-rich although I was certainly taxed as though I was. But I’m not bitter… just smarter!
Then my wife and partner of 20yrs chose another life path that didn’t include the kids and me. I decided a change of direction and a fresh start was needed so the three of us relocated from the north shore of Sydney Harbour to the beautiful mid north coastal town of Port Macquarie.
On another personal note, I have managed to find a new life partner and kindred spirit in Cindi… we believe we were destined to find each other. As with most parents, I’m an extremely proud father of 2 wonderful kids Andrew and Amylee. They have both come through some adversity to become caring and responsible young people.

It was during this “sea change” that my whole idea/belief system of wealth creation started to change. I was turned on to the idea of Network Marketing/Direct Sales while reading “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. When this guy gives you a tip… you should seriously consider it!
My transition from Landscape Construction Company owner to budding Entrepreneur wasn’t without some bumps in the road. I had plenty of struggles and a ton of learning ahead of me. Regardless of my past setbacks I was determined to succeed…it was up to me to change my life!
After a little under 6 years of going down the ‘wrong’ road of making a list of family and friends, buying and cold-calling leads, prospecting strangers in shopping malls, posting flyers and handing out business cards… I wasn’t seeing the results I was promised, just a few measly signups into my business.
I bounced around from company to company looking for mentorship and training. If you are or have been involved in this industry and things aren’t what you thought they’d be, I can guarantee you that I have dealt with the exact same questions and frustrations you are going through right now.
I wouldn’t be denied! I had learn’ t a ton through those years even though my bank account didn’t show it. I was consistently learning and growing as a person and as a leader. You see, it’s those exact struggles and battles you push through that develop you into a leader. I believe that without those struggles I would never have the success and the posture I enjoy today.
So What Changed?
How did I transform my stressful money pit of a home business into a system that now produces free leads and cash?
It’s actually quite simple.
The secret to my new found success in the industry stemmed from my learning and collaboration with a few industry leading experts. I absorbed every bit of material they threw at me, took action on every directive and BAM!…I started to build momentum and generate results.
Perseverance and good mentors were the key for me and I believe it’s true for everyone… without them; it can be a long lonely walk.

..Top Resources
Robert Kiyosaki has been at the cutting edge of predicting Markets for decades…Wallace D Wattles taught me about The Science Of Getting Rich...Mike Dillard taught me early on about Attraction Marketing…Jim Rohn , who is unfortunately no longer with us, I regarded as a Network Marketing genius and was one of the industries top motivational speakers. Finally the on and offline Marketing System that powers my business building efforts today. So in short, that gives you an idea of where I get my ideas from.
It’s all paid off… I’m now well on my way to achieving my undeniable dream/goal of Financial Independence. From spending thousands on marketing in the past, I have to say it’s totally liberating to be able to attract top quality prospects for next to no cost and be able to teach them how to duplicate my efforts.
Most of this can be attributed to my finally hooking up personally with mentally strong and knowledgeable mentors/friends who prompt and guide me when I’m getting off track and the power of Social Media Marketing.
Last, but definitely not least, is my recent collaboration with a syndication mastermind. I can’t begin to tell you how gratifying it is to be involved with a team of motivated people all moving in the same direction…you know who you are and you all ROCK!
So here in lies the kicker to the start of this tale, Eban Pagan become a multi-millionaire through the growth of his information empire which he started from home, just like me!
In his “final analysis” he say’s “there’s nothing more important to your growth in life than having intentional MasterMinds”
He then quotes Napoleon Hill (from his book “Think and Grow Rich”). Hill said that “no individual can achieve great power without a MasterMind”.
If you’re reading this wandering why you’re not achieving all you want to achieve in life, I’ll leave you with something Eban said on his post that a lot of you may have heard before but bear’s repeating…
“It’s not what we read, not what we think, not what we feel. We’re influenced by the OTHERS around us. We literally become those that we surround ourselves with.
Want to know how much a person makes per year? Find their five closest friends and average their incomes. That’s the answer.
Want to know how healthy a person is? Find their five closest friends and average their health.
Want to know what a person’s aspirations are? You get the picture.”
I believe my unshakable belief and desire to succeed has led me to my intentional Mastermind.
To your MEGA Success,
